Facebook Changes its Name and Logo to Meta

According to the company. the change is part of its move towards the metaverse. the next frontier in the digital revolution.

Meta has rebranded Facebook and taken a significant step towards overhauling the social networking giant, Facebook. It downgraded its name and rebranded to Facebook on Thursday. Facebook and its other apps such as Instagram and WhatsApp will remain part of Meta.

The Facebook CEO announced on Thursday that Facebook’s parent company will rename the social media platform to Meta in the rebranding.

The change does not apply to its platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp, but only to the parent company that owns it.

On Thursday, Facebook exposed a new sign at its head office in Menlo Park, replacing the highly praised “Like” logo with a blue infinity form.

Changes to Facebook’s name are largely cosmetic. It will begin trading under the stock ticker MVRS from December 1st. The company will also move away from Oculus’ original brand and rebrand some of its virtual reality products to Meta.

The company was not restructured and no managerial changes were made. Mr. Zuckerberg also remains a managing director and chairman. The majority has the right to vote on any change that may affect the future of the company.

Zuckerberg, who was the important speaker of the virtual incident, said that the Facebook name no extended represents the company as a complete especially that it has progressed away from just providing that social media services.

The metadata warehouse will be our first priority from now on. It will not be Facebook first. Facebook is one of the world’s most new popular products.  But gradually more it doesn’t cover the whole thing we do.”

Connect is the company’s yearly hardware occasion where the company discusses new products in virtual reality. The increased reality, such as Portal video devices and Oculus headsets.

Zuckerberg added that the name of the social media network will again be Facebook. The parental company similarly possesses Instagram, WhatsApp, and Oculus.

Metaverse is the next evolution of social connectivity. The company’s dream is to help get the meta-universe to life. which is why we’re altering our name to reflect our promise to this future,

The statement comes as part of the company’s wider effort to rebrand and move away from fresh arguments over the fact that it is responsive to several social harms it sources to users.

Drafts of leaked documents

Facebook’s reputation has been hit several times lately, and The Washington Post reports today that the company has provides policymakers with key information about vaccine misinformation during the pandemic.

This was the latest in a series of reports based on internal documents leaked to the media by former employee Ms. Haugen. Reports claiming, among other things, that Facebook had participated in research showing that Instagram was harming the mental health of young people and was struggling to remove hate speech from its platforms outside the US.

According to Mr. Zuckerberg, the information was “a corresponding effort to selectively usage leaking documents to paint a false picture of our company.”

The company declared that it will divide its hardware division, Actuality Labs, into its reporting section from the fourth part.

Zuckerberg wrote in a letter on Thursday that the metaverse aims to reach one billion users, host hundreds of billions in digital commerce, and create jobs for millions of creators and developers.

Over the past few years, the company has stepped up its hardware efforts by offering a range of Portal video-calling devices. launching Ray-Ban Storie’s glasses, and launching various versions of Oculus virtual reality headsets. The company stated that augmented and virtual reality will be an important part of its strategy in the coming years.

We believe Metadata will succeed the mobile internet, Zuckerberg said

Also, Meta announced a new virtual reality headset called Project Cambria.  In a blog post, the company said that the device will be a high-end product price higher than the $299 Quest 2 headset

Project Nazare is the codename for Meta’s first fully AR-capable smart glasses. The glasses are “fixing a few years out,” the company supposing in a blog post. Nazare still has a ways to go, but Zuckerberg said we were making good progress.

Facebook may have trouble getting people to call themselves Meta.

First, the move appears to be Facebook’s attempt to divert attention from all the negative stories around it. According to critics, Facebook’s brand is toxic. One Senator described the change as “cosmetic” and others ignored it.

Second, Metaverse still doesn’t exist. Zuckerberg wanted to emphasize that this is a long-term project. I find the use of a name completely unrelated to your actual product a bit odd. Facebook’s revenue comes almost exclusively from ads on its platform.

Third, other Big Tech companies failed to rebrand. It’s hardly referring to as “The Alphabet,” the name Google rebranded in 2015.

Mr. Zuckerberg is no longer passionate about Instagram and Facebook. According to him, the creation of virtual worlds will change the human experience. Being constantly criticized for the way he runs social media companies must be exhausting. As a result of this restructuring, he can focus more on the business lines he is interested in.
